Research Interest

I am interested in the haemoglobinopathies. I have worked mostly on sickle cell disease but lately I am working on the thalassaemias especially Beta thalassaemia where I have found that the incidence of beta thalassaemia among Nigerians is higher than previously thought. I am now looking at the effect of G6PD deficiency on the coinheritance of alpha and beta thalassaemia
