Position Held:- Professor of Anaesthesia/Consultant Anaesthetist

Duties/Responsibilities:-Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical, dental, nursing students anaesthesia. Teaching entails both lectures and clinical teaching in theatres and wards. I also supervise reaseach projects of the PG students. I am an examiner at the various levels of the Postgraduate examinations in anaesthesia.

I was Acting Head of Dept from 2002-2004 with extensive managerial duties for the department of 6 academic staff and 30 resident doctors.

Procedures and Treatments Performed:- I anaesthetise for the neurosurgical lists and the paediatric surgery lists regularly. I also run the Gynaecological and General surgical lists. There is a wide spectrum of cases as UCH is the Centre of Excellence for Neurosciences in Nigeria. I take calls about twice in a week and up to 2 weekends per month. I also run the Pain and Palliative care Clinic.

Other Information:- I was awarded the Commonwealth Fellowship to study Pain and also conduct research in the various aspect of both Acute and Chronic Pain. I also participated in Palliative Care Course run in the hospice of Sobell House of Churchill Hospital, Oxford
