Current Research Works

I am involved at present with others in the team in the following research areas:

1.       PROPESS AND MISOPROSTOL IN CERVICAL RIPRENING STUDY

We are presently studying the efficacy of Dinoprostone in cervical ripening comparing it with misoprostol.

2.       Malaria in Pregnancy Study

a.       ADHERENCE TO NEW MALARIA PROPHYLAXIS (IPT) IN PREGNANCY STUDY

Presently conducting a study on Adherence to Malaria Prophylaxis in Pregnancy, which is being supported by the Senate Research Grant.

b.      COMPARISON OF THE SAFETY, EFFECTIVENESS AND TOLERABILITY OF   

ARTEMETHER-LUMEFANTRINE AND ARTESUNATE AMODIAQUINE IN NIGERIAN PREGNANT WOMEN.

We are currently carrying out a study to compare the safety and efficacy of   artemether lumefantrin and artesunate amodiaquine in pregnant Nigerian women suffering from acute, uncomplicated falciparum malaria. Support from Senate Research Grant.

3.       CHILD ADOPTION STUDY

We are presently undertaking a survey among Nigerian infertile couples to find out their attitude to child adoption as an alternative management option.

4.       HIV/AIDS CONTROL AND PREVENTION NETWORKS

a.       THE EFFECT OF PREGNANCY ON REFERENCE VALUES OF CD4 + COUNT LYMPHOCYTES IN HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS NEGATIVE NIGERIAN PREGNANT WOMEN.

We are currently conducting a study to describe CD4+ cell reference ranges from HIV negative pregnant Nigerian women and determining factors. Its being carried out in the antenatal clinic of the UCH, Ibadan and Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Yemetu.
