Brief History of the Library

The library is one of the critical elements of any centre of excellence. The library provides current information to staff and students through relevant journals, books CD-ROMs and archival materials. The internet also provides library users access to an enormous amount of information in all areas. Thus the faculty of Public Health established a library as a means of promoting excellence in research and training of a critical mass of public practitioners in line with the vision of the founding fathers.

On 19th February, 2007, the Faculty of Public Health commissioned its library, the Adetokunbo Lucas Public Health Library. The library was named after Professor Adetokunbo Lucas OFR as one of the founding fathers of Public Health and in recognition of his immense contribution to Public Health nationally and internationally.

Facilities in the library include the most priced book collections of Professor Adetokunbo Lucas as well as internet access.
